George Subkoff is a well-known dealer to important collectors, museum curators, and antique dealers, as a source of fine antiques from around the world. Although he handles primarily 18th and 19th century American, English and Continental furniture, he prides himself on his diversified stock, which often includes items from China and Southeast Asia. He is one of the few antique dealers with a broad range of knowledge encompassing many specialized areas and time periods.

Mr. Subkoff has been in the antique business for over 50 years. For 25 years his shop was located in New York City until he moved the business to Westport, Connecticut. One of his regular customers was Berry Tracey, the former curator of the American Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Many exceptional antiques sold by Mr. Subkoff are now on display in the reception room of the U.S. State Department in Washington D.C., at Gracie Mansion, and at the Boscobel Restoration.

Mr. Subkoff served as president of The Art and Antique Dealers League for 4 years, during which time he led the League to fulfill a long-standing goal: the founding of a major antiques show in New York City featuring 50 American-owned businesses in antiques and fine art.
