Slate Italian Eatery was created in May of 2016. It was the idea of Chris Kline and fellow chef Jason Schmitz who Chris trained under. It was the concept of true from scratch cooking. Restaurants have gone to premade heat and serve food and we at Slate felt it was time to get back to the roots of cooking. We pride ourselves on having fresh, local ingredients every day. We like to think of our food as Italian comfort food. You know, the kind your mom would have made (if she were Italian).
