The Red Willow People have continuously inhabited Taos Pueblo for over 1000 years, and it is the only living community to be listed in the Registry of National Historic Landmarks and recognized by the United Nations Education, as a World Heritage Site. Artisans of the community have also accustomed themselves to having a direct interaction with visitors which is a unique aspect of the shops. Most of the shops are owned and operated by the artist in conjunction with family members.
